Cash drawers

Quick setup and fault-finding checklist.

Standard duty cash drawer

Quick checks

  1. Check the drawer cable is fully seated in the printer or till cash port.
  2. Power-cycle the printer/till, then run a cash-drawer test from TillTech POS.
  3. Confirm the printer has paper, is online, and is set as the default in POS.
  4. Inspect for bent pins on the cash-drawer connector before reseating.

Notes & variations

  • Legacy drawers shipped with RJ11 kick cables; newer models may use USB or dedicated ports.
  • If the drawer opens on every print, disable 'open drawer on receipt' in your printer driver.
  • For stuck drawers, use the manual release under the front lip and log a support ticket.
